This is the second draft of the first book, and I am so stoked! I've changed the cover and added new art. The character creation process and game mechanics have been simplified and streamlined. I gave it a test run with kids between the ages of 9 to 11, and they really seem to enjoy it. It took a bit of coaching, but they were able to create their character and start playing within 15 to 20 minutes. I still want to get that number down. The kids loved their characters, the combat was fluid, and they were invested in the short story. Some things worked really well, like combat, action rolls, and the mechanics of the game. While other things still need to improve, like character creation, explaining the abilities, and explaining dice rolls. I really enjoyed this test run and look forward to creating demos online and in IRL.
I am so excited for people to play my game! It's been crazy getting this far, and I still have miles to go! But with the help of many talented people, this project will be a masterpiece! I hired the editor to work on the second book, Races, while I finished writing the third book, Abilities. The next stage is just around the corner. I have to keep this momentum!
